“Peers are a necessity, not a luxury in human development.” WW Hartup
Everyone needs a safe place to land.
A place where he or she can walk in, connect with someone, and simply exhale.
Finding that sacred place is often difficult for teens who are high functioning on the autism spectrum. Their difficulties with casual, reciprocal conversation often leave them out of a group. For some, their anxiety levels are so significant that their minds basically shut down, leaving them no opportunity to join in. Still others rarely find someone they feel they can relate to, or someone who understands their quirks and idiosyncrasies.
But still, the desire exists.
Play the Spectrum Teen Time is a place to belong. Designed as a social outing, teens with high functioning ASD or related disorders come on a Friday night to relax, laugh, play a variety of games and simply be themselves.
You can REGISTER NOW for our first event!
Friday, January 18 from 6:30-8:00
